A space to say goodbye
Before we care for your pet, we give you the time and space to be with them. The Farewell Room is yours for as long as you need it.
Your time, your way
Saying goodbye is one of the most important things we can do for someone we love — and that's no different when it's a pet. Our Farewell Room is a quiet, private space at our New Plymouth premises where you and your family can spend time with your pet before aquamation begins. There's no rush. No clock. Just a peaceful environment designed to give you the closure you need.

Who the room is for
Children
Losing a pet can be a child's first experience of loss. The Farewell Room gives children the chance to say a proper goodbye on their own terms.
Adults
Grief has no age limit. This space is for you to feel what you feel, without judgement or rushing.
Other animals
We welcome animal companions to visit too. Many pet behaviourists recognise the importance of allowing other animals to understand what has happened.
Why saying goodbye matters
Meaningful farewell rituals support healthy grief — for humans and animals alike. The Farewell Room isn't a luxury. It's a kindness. A way to honour the bond you shared and begin healing with clarity.
How to arrange
The room is available to all families who use Sweet Farewell — whether you come directly or your pet is collected via a vet clinic. Let us know when you get in touch and we'll arrange a time.
